TOTAL VISITORS FROM 2008:

ADVICE THAT WILL BANKRUPT THE NATION 125

1. I am happy that Tun Abdullah has explained that he did not write about how the nation would be bankrupt if he had followed my advice. It was the interviewer.

2. I hope he does not mind my clearing my name over what the interviewer wrote in “The Awakening”. Yes, I agree that I was a spendthrift Prime Minister who finished all the government money building the North South Expressway, Penang Bridge, West Port, KLIA, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya and an assortment of others.

3. Had Tun Abdullah succeeded me earlier all these would be stopped to save Malaysia from bankruptcy. As it is, he managed to stop the crooked bridge and the railway double-tracking and electrification project.

4. The bridge would have cost just under 1 billion Ringgit. The cancellation cost the Government 200 million Ringgit in compensation and unfinished work.

5. The railway project from Johor Bahru to Padang Besar was going to cost 14 billion Ringgit – slightly more than 2 billion per year for six years. Fourteen billion Ringgit was saved. But then it was found necessary to build the electrified double track from Ipoh to Padang Besar. The cost is 12 billion Ringgit.

6. A contract was given to a foreign company to build the track from Seremban to Gemas. I don’t know what it cost. Looks like the 14 billion saved was spent on very much shorter tracks, about one-third in length.

7. Still there must have been a lot of money saved. The small jet I used was good only for the Deputy Prime Minister. A big jet was bought not through the usual channels but by some private individual. There was denial by the Government that the A320 was bought for the use by the Prime Minister. But the aircraft is even today used by the Prime Minister. Wonder why the deal was struck. Who really owns the aircraft? How much money has been saved by the Government from this deal?

8. Then there were these corridors to be developed. Each would cost 70 billion Ringgit. Then it is learnt that the allocation include private sector investments. Before Government budget is about how the Government will spend Government money. Under Tun Abdullah the Government budgets for the private sector to spend. But that’s allright because the figures look good.

9. However since none of the corridors took off, billions were saved.

10. It must have been a very rich Government which went for the 12th General Election. Sadly the people did not appreciate the billions that were saved. They rejected the Government party, giving 5 states and one federal territory to the opposition, and just a small majority to the thrifty party.

11. Just imagine how many billions more would be saved if I had stepped down earlier before building the North-South Highway, Penang Bridge, KLIA, West Port, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, the twin towers of Petronas and a host of other mega projects. We would be sitting on a mountain of Ringgits.

salam to my beloved Tun, what u have said is crystal clear . not many that became a leader could understand and predict the future…not all do understand and practice what it should be done without putting their self interest as the main agenda…no one should claim as a true muslim but practice other wise…sadly that umno have lost its charismatic. sense of responsibilities was far left behind…and malays is left begging in their own country…

For The On. Of course I am not jealous. Why should I when I see the ridiculous spectacle of a one street town of 50 years standing created by one brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore making a brave front of mixing up with the 20 great and historic Nations of the World. The On, still trying to knuckle us Malaysians down that your Singapore Disneyland will exist the next 50 years and be superior to a our beloved country, Malaysia, LED BY THE MALAYS ? Singapore is a ONE MAN SHOW AS LONG AS THE BRILLIANT LEE KUAN YEW WITH HIS 9 FAILED POLICIES FOR SINGPORE WILL LAST UP TO 100, 110 OR EVEN 120 YEARS OLD. You take your pick, The On the Wise Guy. You take your pick. THIS YEAR IS 2013 AND NOT 1962 ? Remember ! I await your response to defend THAT YOUR BELOVED SINGAPORE IS GREATER THAN OUR BELOVED MALAYSIA. I await !

Why do you have to qualify that you are not jealous? Pointing to the obvious. Freudian slip? Just like the guy who hie his silver under the bed and posted a sign “there are NO silver buried under the bed”.

I was quite amused but not jealous to observe that Singapore is one of the attendees of the G20 World Conference in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation. A one street town with a leader who is the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with the 9 failed Policies for Singapore which has been ballooned up to such giddy heights that it seemed it is all a dream. But the wonder of it all is that what one man, albeit a brilliant man of his time, with his Double Starred First in Law at Cambridge in 1947 can do in the days before the end of the Cold War in 1989 using just 19th century methods of trading within a 20th century facade of glimmering buildings. That Singapore in a space of just over 55 years was transformed from a sleepy colonial entreport to a place amongst the 20 Greats of the World by invitation. Singapore was also invited once by South Korea. This is the achievement of one man’s ambition for himself and his Nation. But what comes thereafter is a matter of serious conjecture by academics, historians and the like. But to achieve such giddy heights for a one street Nation can only be done by brainwashing of all and sundry, Malaysians were the first in the queue, with the finest tried out methods from superior foreign minds. How to swing all the naive and nubile minds to have a single mind-set of adulation for a set of brilliant Cambridge University results. This method has achieved much for materila gain. But the Man proposes, God disposes.
This actually crude method of brainwashing could only be applied to a country like Malaysia to bend the mind-sets to whom or which direction, the perpetrator planned to achieve in the first instance. And with success, a wider audience of the World’s best leaders is targetted for further brainwashing of a different kind. This definitely has proven to be fairly effective in the case of Singapore but then there are limits to this type of manipulation of the human mind.
It was alright as long as the World continues her way as had happened in the past. But with the sudden conclusion of the Cold War in 1989, all bets were off especially with Pax Americana of Globalisation, Free Trade and Human Rights and the advent of the Web a decade later. Singapore’s wherewithal in relation to the World was in a whirl and even 2 pieces of casino papers could only kick-start the ecomony for just 2 years. For the meritocratic society to miss out the beginning of events in 2007 and 2008 is a serious oversight which actually began in 1931 with the New Deal and the American economy shot up from 7th December 1941 to October 2008 giving credence to the Kondratieff Wave of old.
What is it that can sustain the position of Singapore to be invited to every round of the G20 deliberations all over the World ? This is a matter that no one can foretell because the fortituous situation of today is due to the will and ambition of one person. And whether this was all done to achieve this position in the near and far future depends on the ebb and flow of the present day World financial tsunamis because the 19th century style of trading and making money with harbours and the like will be out dated somewhat by the ingenuity of Humankind. Here lies the great question mark for the future of Singapore which has so far depended on the brilliance of just one person who achieved much in a world that was now far far away in the past. I had commented that Singapore’s peak of achievements was when the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore retired at the age of 65. And I had also commented that Singapore has the following 4 options to choose to maintain her very high dizzy height position of today :-

    1. Singapore joins as the 53rd State of the Union of the United States of America.
    2. Singapore becomes a Crown Colony again.
    3. Singapore re-merge with Malaysia.
    4. Singapore maintains status quo with her full Cabinet of Ministers which could rule a country of 50 Millions, with a complete Military and spies and a web of embassies around the World.

The above-mentioned is for The On and Dont Be Small Minded, MNMN, saxykumar, yusof12, HockBengTeohhalfpast6 and of the same ilk, to ponder and chew over. No hard feelings.

Addendum. On the one hand, we had peace and tranquillity in the streets and homes for 22 years and on the other, WITH JUST ONE LOYAL, CREDITABLE, RELIABLE AND INTELLIGENT AIDE a nation’s socio-economic make-up from the creation of the important middle income group, for now and the future was established after a 10 delay in the implementation of the NEP which no one noticed.

It is good that your cynics, detractors, death wishers, big mouths, critics, the vulgaristas, the good, the bad and the ugly now see for themselves the wisdom of your keeping the ISA and EO during your 22 year Administration of our beloved country. And you managed to keep PEACE AND HARMONY in our streets without MURDERS EVERYDAY with JUST ONE DEPUTY. On the other hand, you could also keep the economy of our beloved Malaysia moving to greater heights of achievement and CREATE A HUGE MALAY MIDDLE INCOME GROUP IN THE PROCESS WHICH PULLED AND EXPANDED THE NON-MALAY MIDDLE INCOME GROUP AS WELL. Your concept of Proton as could be discerned now was not only to sell cars but to create a new peripheral automotive business for the many. Another middle income group enterprise. So on and so forth.

It is all SURPRISING THAT WE SEE ‘THE ON’ AND ‘DONT BE SMALL MINDED’ BEING PARACHUTED INTO THIS BLOG AND CLAIM THAT THE SINKING TITANIC OF S.S. SINGAPORE IS SUPERIOR IN EVERY WAY TO OUR BELOVED MALAYSIA. I have kept quiet since 1960 until 2011 when matters were coming to a head. It was obvious to me all these years how a person with a set of brilliant academic results could brainwashed the World to giddy heights and came down with a big crash in October 2008. And yet even more surprisingly, the believers are still believing in their brainwashed minds the mirage of the titanic S.S. Singapore so created BUT THE REALITY IS WHAT THEY COULD NOT SEE. The sooner the Chinese, the Malaysian Chinese, see what is REALITY AND WHAT IS FICTION ALL THE BETTER FOR THEM. NO CHINAMAN OR CHINAWOMAN IN THE WHOLE WORLD VOTES AGAINST AN INCUMBENT GOVERNMENT especially in a place like our beloved Malaysia. A country which treats these Chinese the best of all in the whole World and now they behave as though they want to LET GO OF THE WHOLE LOT OF WHAT THEY HAD ACHIEVED THROUGH THE CENTURIES in just one throw of the dice.

HEY, TUN ! These fellas have become ROBOTS from brainwashing a’la KGB.

These The On and Dont Be Small Minded do make rather strange remarks in their anger that the facts have revealed the REAL SINGAPORE. Sorry to say their minds are in a turmoil because the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore has brainwashed them so thoroughly they could only repeat Singapore State approved utterances verbatim. Strange. It is so very hard for them to accept the NORM OR NORMAL STATUS. They must insist that they are SINGAPORE’S BEST in everything. PLEASE NOTE ONE AND ALL THIS SORT OF NONSENSE IS ON APPLIED TO OUR COMPATRIOTS, THE NAIVE AND NUBILE MINDED MALAYSIANS. IN MY WHOLE LIFE, THE SINGAPOREANS DARED NOT TELL THE TALES OF VIENNA WOODS TO THOSE SUPERIOR TO THEM. In other words, because our Government shut off ALL SINGAPORE NEWS, all of us are in a pressure cooker LISTENING TO THE GOOD AND SUPERIOR DEEDS OF THE BRILLIANT LEE KUAN YEW WITH HIS 9 FAILED POLICIES FOR SINGAPORE. You will note hardly any Malaysian know or dare to say the facts and the Malaysian Chinese media has long put their bets on the side which they think is strong and without feet of clay. They will find out soon enough !
Another strange thing is that Singapore reached her peak at the point when the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies retired at the age of 65 officially. Soon after, the whole World changed due to Pax Americana’s ‘ Globalisation, Free Trade, Human Rights ‘. From this, only China and India benefitted socio-economically for the moment. Singapore with her 20th century facade DOING 19TH CENTURY BUSINESS was caught off guard and by 2013, we could see her being roiled by the tumultous political and socio-economic of tsunami dimensions. Singapore’s response was archaic with just 2 pieces of casino licences, behaving just like Ah Kow down the road. There was a blip for 2 years and thereafter, sayonara folks for the casino business which is neither squeaky clean or dirty black. I can only see what I see all the time for Singapore within the next 50 years without the construction of the Isthmus of Kra Canal – strange people, these 2 fellows who do not want the Canal to be built by uttering some brainwashed comments to their own detriment.

    1. Singapore becomes the 53rd Union of the United States forming the far end of this giant containment circle of defense.
    2. Singapore becomes a British Crown Colony like Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Grenada etc.
    3. Singapore re-merge with Malaysia.
    4. Singapore retains status quo with a full Cabinet able to rule a nation of 50 Million, complete military satrap and embassies the world over.

    MAN PROPOSES. GOD DISPOSES.

I do not see at all what we can learn from Singapore. Before October 2008, when everything was brainwashed and opaque with everyone kow-towing to the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore, I thought it was absurd to do so based on a single set of academic achievements. But time is the best exposer of all that is good and bad. And as always this has proven with the performance of academic individuals who produced a single great invention early on in the 20s and nothing at all thereafter. In academia, a person cannot do a con job because his peers will judge him through professional bodies like the Royal Society etc.
Fortunately, the Singaporean Trojan Horse DAP failed to conquer Malaysia to deliver to their spiritual leader the brillliant Lee Kuan Yew with the 9 failed Policies for Singapore to save his legacy now in question because of the lack of intellectual power to think out vital moves. They could have achieved absolute power in 3 Easy Steps but failed.
    1. In 1997, if the Deputy Prime Minister had gone on a holiday, he would have returned as the Honourable Prime Minister. The events which happened after 1997 would not have happened.
    2. In 2008, the DAP with their cohorts should have sorted out the 32 seats first before the 12th General Elections. They made the attempt after the General Elections by this time, the BN was back in power.
    3. In 2013, if the DAP and their cohorts called for a 100 day hunger strike and their supporters boycotted the 13th General Elections, the BN would have had to face World condemnation for winning 100% of the seats with just 49% votes. The Singaporean Trojan Horse DAP would have fulfilled its mission to deliver a conquered Malaysia to the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore to save his legacy. This did not happen.

And now with the real possibility of the TPPA being rejected by the Government of Malaysia and resulting from this, all the chickens which were programmed into the Singapore GDP by the super computer would become a figment of some meritocrat imagination. In 2013, we Malaysians know how to make democratic noise for the good of all. No more funny phrases like abang adek with rounds of golf to thrash out the destinies of Nations.

THE TPPA IS A DEATH WARRANT FOR MALAYSIA AND A NEW BIRTH CERTIFICATE FOR SINGAPORE.

Oh it is Dont be Small Minded turn to whack at me for presenting the TRUE FACTS ON THE BRILLIANT LEE KUAN YEW WITH HIS 9 FAILED POLICIES FOR SINGAPORE. You fellas are so very angry that means my facts are true. LET IT BE KNOWN THAT OUR BELOVED MALAYSIA HAS NEVER CLAIMED IT IS A MERITOCRACY. I say now it is stupid to do so because it means the GUY WHO GETS 100 MARKS IS FIRST, THE LADY WHO GETS 99.9 IS SECOND. This pyramidal arrangement of meritocracy failed miserably in meritocratic Singapore so much so 2 Singaporean Ministers had to announce from this year 2013 that those seeking jobs and promotions will not be considered based on academic qualifications alone but their hidden talents as well. Kudos for recognising a mistake. This was what I have been commenting on a dysfunctional meritocratic Singaporena system which failed at the critical moment in October 2008. Why ? It is simply because these dysfunctional meritocratic fellows never thought about what could happen in 2008, 10 or 20 or more years ago when the Cold War was won and the Kondratieff Cycle loomed ever larger from 1931 !

Again either you are a BN cybertrooper who wants to egg me on to comment which I enjoy or a failed meritocratic type for want of better things to do than to joust with me of the FAILED SINGAPORE STATE, either of you are welcome especially with your creativity with brainwashed statements that SINGAPORE A ONE STREET TOWN WHICH IS VERY SUCCESSFUL AND ALL SHOULD EMULATE. THERE IS NO CORRUPTION TOO AND ALL ARE RICH AND CLEVER AND HAPPY. If you honestly believe these holistic (oops, I copy from somewhere) words, I have no quarrel with you and your dreams. BUT DO NOT TRY TO KNUCKLE ME TO SUBMISSION TO BELIEVE YOUR RUBBISH ABOUT SINGAPORE. Your Government projected an annual GDP for 2013 at 3.5% which is 50% less than 7% which will give Singapore the fizz. HOWEVER NO INFLATION RATE IS MENTIONED. I TAKE IT AT 3.5%, then my dear DONT BE SMALL MINDED AND THE ON, BOTH ARE RUNNING AT A STAND STILL in Asia’s Best Country and the Second Best Nation in the World. Please read

For The On and Dont Be Small Minded. The Gemini Twins who are very angry with an ordinary and normal person that is me. No need to hurl insults, abuses, lies and what have you. I am happy because the truth is confirmed by you being upset by the truth. Here goes :-

Why both of you are so mad at me as to attempt to discredit, curse, abuse, insult etc me ? Not to worry because we Malaysians are on the firm ground of PROPRIETY, ETHICS AND STANDARDS. In other words, rest assured both of you, we DO NOT CHEAT ANYBODY.

    1. The Rear Assault of Malaysia. The 1962 Water Agreement with Singapore. Malaysia ended up with Malaysia delivering not only free water but had to pay for this free water too due to the depreciation of the Malaysian ringgit. Smart.

    1. The Frontal Assault NOW TAKING PLACE VIA THE TPPA. This is the smartest move of all by Singapore via an American Agreement. For Dont be Small Minded, there is an ancient Chinese saying, ‘ Borrow a knife to kill others ‘. ONCE OUR BELOVED MALAYSIA SIGN THIS TPPA WE LOSE ALL THAT WE HAD WORKED SO HARD TO BUILD IN RELATION TO OUR MALAY HERITAGE, CULTURE, RELIGION, SULTANAGE, CUSTOMS, LEGACIES ETC because the bulwark to protect all these would be wiped away BY THE DOWNFALL OF THE BN AS LED BY THE UMNO – the traditional and democratically elected protector of the basic sinews of a NATION – A MALAYSIAN NATION. As I said before, the FOREIGN MANUFACTURED GOODS FROM SINGAPORE HARBOUR WILL FLOOD IN OVERNIGHT, our 750,000 Malay SMES plus their non-Malay compatriots are JUST FLOODED TO DEATH. Go to court to SEEK JUSTICE ? Please do not joke ? This middle income group which has an extended population of more than 7.5 Millions, employs at least 1.5 Million workers will be wiped out overnight. This is the good TUN DR MAHATHIR MOHAMAD HARD WORK OF A LIFE-TIME ! So sorry ! The On and Dont be Small Minded ! Whether the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore likes it or not, the TTPA SHOULD BE FIRMLY REJECTED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF MALAYSIA AT ALL COSTS. Twice bitten twice shy.

SINGAPORE PLEASE DO NOT SCREW US POOR MALAYSIANS ANYMORE, FRONT OR BACK !

  13. Dont be small minded Sep 4,2013 10:44 AM

Alamak! those that want progress for the country and learn from the successful are labelled as LKY supporter. Like that how to progress? It is not even small minded. It is closing our mind and refusing to see the light.

Water and railway track was stolen from us ? Did they point a gun and aim their apache at us when the agreement was signed? How did they manage to con the entire ICJ in awarding the rock to them? ICJ is corrupt and incompetent? Or is it ourselves? Be open minded lah.
Singapore is unscrupulous and first world con artists? Is that how the rest of the world see them or is that just the view of those who are not able to come to terms with it due to some personal hurts and sorrow stories and due to the late delivery of magazine and damaged teddy bear that is attributed to PAP?

The one street town that you so detest is already planning to build a terminal 5 at the airport and we still harping on a 1961 agreement that was signed with eyes wide open? How to progress with a closed mind?

For The On. Who has taken on Dont Be Small Minded’s role. For all we know they are one and the same. I love it. Here we go again.

    1. IF THE BRILLIANT LEE KUAN YEW WITH HIS 9 FAILED POLICIES FOR SINGAPORE SUPPORTED THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE ISTHMUS OF KRA CANAL AND LATER REJECTED BY THE THAI GOVERNMENT, THIS SHOWS HE CARED FOR THE WELL-BEING AND PROSPERITY OF HIS OWN SINGAPOREAN PEOPLE. And on the assumpiton that this Canal did really happened, see how many Singapore Dollars would have been earned by the Singaporeans and they would be dancing all the way to DBS. But the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew said no because Singapore Harbour activities would be affected. I am of the opinion that harbour activities are 19th century. It is more important to get the money right away now and not think of what happens 50 years down the road. BUT YOUR BRILLIANT LEE KUAN YEW WITH HIS 9 FAILED POLICIES FOR SINGAPORE HAD THE AMBITION TO BE A WORLD GREAT MAN SINCE HIS DOUBLE STARRED FIRST IN LAW AT CAMBRIDGE CONSIDERED THE WHOLE MATTER IN MORE ESOTERIC TERMS VIS A VIS THE PEOPLE OF SINGAPORE. And a big ‘NO’ was the answer.

MY FACTS REALLY HURT YOU, THE ON AND DONT BE SMALL MINDED, the Gemini Twins. NO NEED TO BE ABUSIVE. I have a very thick skin and welcome more abuses and insults until you bar yourself from this Blog. Have a g’day !

For Dont Be Small Minded. You are great ‘Dont Be Small Minded’. At least you understand a little bit about the thoughts and logic of your brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore. Here are some more TIT-BITS specially for you based on the word ‘SCREW’. I hope you forgive me for bringing up one or two small-minded matters.

    1. How Singapore Screws Malaysia since the dawn of time.

    A. Public Screw. i) 1962 Water Agreement.
ii) The 25 miles of steel rails belonging to KTM
iii) The Sale and Re-purchase of TNB shares. etc.
iv) Pulau Batu Putih plus the surrounding seas as per internation law.
    v) The parachuting of PAP cadres into KL to look for ‘ low hanging fruits ‘
plus the master stroke of inserting a PAP cadre as the CHIEF EDITOR
OF THE UMNO NEW STRAITS TIMES with a luscious fruit the SIME
DARBY CONTRACT. The poor guy who conceptualise and helped in the
repatriation of SIME DARBY was paid BEFORE TAX AND 18 YEARS
SERVICE only RM 540,000 which is now walloped by Executives at
more than this a month. AND HE IS NOT COMPLAINING !
    2. The Private Screw. As these mainly is private sector sharp business practices which run into thousands, I have no right to explain. But to give an indication here is how it is done :-
    i) For a short while under the Tun’s 22 year Administration, we had United
Kingdom monthly magazines 1 month early. But before and after and
now we have these magazines 1 month late. In other words, when
Singapore gets the October UK monthly magazine in September,
Malaysia gets theirs in October. I observed that the SINGAPORE NEWS
AGENTS COLLECT ALL THE UNSOLD MAGAZINES ON THE 21ST OF
EACH MONTH TO DELIVER TO MALAYSIA, THAILAND AND INDONESIA
eg. 21 September collected September magazines in Singapore deliver to
Malaysia, etc for sale in October as September. Smart. No wastage.
ii) The common practice of sending written off goods to Malaysia. Once, my
wife was away. A Singapore KL subsidiary rang up and said my wife
ordered a teddy bear. I said OK deliver it to the house. My wife returned
and scolded me and said, ‘ Did’nt you notice the scratch on the nose ‘.
This is the result of me being not kiasu.
iii) Maybank purchase of Kim Eng Securities
iv) Maybank purchase of the Indonesian International Bank from Temasek
Singapore and Kookmin in the same year 2008 as when MALAYSIA LOST
PULAU BATU PUTIH – broad-minded transaction, not small minded. The
DAP now claims Maybank will lose billions of ringgits.

I asked my Singaporean relatives why we always got cheated by them. They replied as with the other Singaporeans that their perception is that we Malaysians are corrupt and with plenty of natural resources, so it is alright for them to cheat us. Alamak.

To confirm all these. Read the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore’s recent book, Page 87 …some nations are like creepers…’ in his discourse with President Nixon. My interpretation of this sentence is that ‘ IT IS ALRIGHT TO SUCK ON A BIGGER ENTITY FOR SUSTENANCE TO SURVIVE.’

Dont Be Small Minded see how much our beloved Malaysia lost to Singapore in peacetime and not through a War but through just a round of golf. It is obvious Singapore, a failed State, with all its military might, Regiments of Gurkha guard, tanks, F35, submarines, AWACS, Apaches, spies, corvettes, etc are not for Malaysia but for Indonesia. Right. Dont be small minded ?

  16. The Sep 4,2013 8:30 AM

The Thais are not that stupid to agree to the building of the Kra Canal. They are already having lots of trouble with their Muslim South. By cutting the Isthmus for the Kra Canal, it is as good as ceding its southern Muslim region to you know which country.

Keep dreaming. Maybe they can nuke the Kra Isthmus to save on construction cost.

Repeating a series of lies on and on does not make them true.

  17. Dont be small minded Sep 3,2013 11:30 PM

So besides screwing up Singaporeans’ lives, now LKY is accused of screwing up the lives of those in Indochina. Wow…a little red dot can influence a few countries’ governments to forgo development of their countries and also prevent big corporations from reaping big profit in participating in a sure-win mega project? So actually, all these govts and corporations should just have to engage a consultant, or better still, visit this blog space to get free advice, and push ahead with this project? Then Indochina and all in Asean will be prosperous and live happily ever after?

Let’s be big minded. We shld ask why after so many years of studies, no one is willing to plonk down money to invest in this Mega project, if it is financially sound and feasible.
We should also ask is mega project a sure way to develop a country?

If we have great problem overcoming personal grievances and prejudices to learn from a neighbour just a bus ticket away, then perhaps it would be easier to learn from the other 3 Asian Dragons (HK, Taiwan, South Korea). Like all countries, all of them also have different constraints and limitations. But all of them overcame odds through sheer HARDWORK, and working SMART, not by blaming and pointing fingers at others when their own country is not developing. Many countries in Asean definitely have much more land, resources and manpower. But why is investment flowing mainly to the 4 Dragons? It is the MIND of the people that will see them succeed and set the difference from the rest. Thus we need to open up our mind. I know it is difficult becos we are used to being small minded. We have mega projects like MSC, Proton, etc. But the mind of our people are different and thus you can see the outcome.

Lastly, lets not keep beating the D.R.U.M.S (Distortions, Rumours, Untruths, Misinformation and Smear). It will only reflect on oneself.

For Dont Be Small Minded. There are 2 points for you to note about your hero the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore as follows :-

    1. There is no record of your hero the brillliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore having any English contemporary in the same class and year as a friend. The good Tun has many who would gather around him for re-unions. I had 5 as friends to this day, 60 years. Strange !

    2. The marking of Cambridge University examination papers is based on the ‘Bell’ Method. Dont be small minded, small minded. Go and check what this means.

For Dont Be Small Minded. Now that I have dealt with your small mindedness in 3 Simple Steps, let me highlight your hero brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore the reasons why he failed in public affairs of Singapore.

    1. Academic record. Lee Kuan Yew spent 3 1/2 years working with the Japanese Broadcasting Service. During this time he could possibly mugged up on the Law subjects in his spare time with Senior Counsels who were idle. He entered the London School of Economics first in 1946 and because he did not have Latin or Greek, only the bottom rung non-collegiate Fitzwilliam House was opened to him with the courtesy of the Senior Tutor. He scored brilliantly amongst most of the undergraduates who were probably war veterans and war weary. His class of undergraduates would not be many unlike a few years after him running into hundreds. He acheived a Double Starred First in Law at the Universtiy of Cambridge. It was alleged he had a Third Class in the Bar Finals London in which his brilliant wife was placed Third out of possibly 300 and my wife was placed 7 out of 700 much later. Please check this with LKY, Dont be small minded. OK. From here until now and onto you, the naive, the brainwashed, the ‘yes’ men, the good, the bad and the ugly all KOW-TOWED TO HIM. OK?

    2. THE ACADEMICALLY BRILLIANT LEE KUAN YEW WITH HIS 9 FAILED POLICIES FOR SINGAPORE- THIS IS HIS RECORD IN SINGAPOREAN PUBLIC AFFAIRS. All culled from Singaporean sources.

Do you know ? It was alleged he snooped around in his jaguar at mid-night looking at flower pots, etc. It was alleged that the bomb-disposal squad would check within one square mile of the place where your hero Lee Kuan Yew would appear in person. These guys would climb up lamp-post and high trees to do their job. Do you know ? Why the fear ?

I nearly bumped into the Tuns around corners so many times in the Malls at night. And my friends and relatives told me they did the same in Cheras Malls which I do not even frequent.

What do you know, DONT BE SMALL MINDED ? I heard you will be awarded a Bintang in LEE KUAN YEW’S BIRTHDAY HONOURS.

For Dont Be Small Minded. OK. I must assume you are a Singaporean. My ancient Chinese saying for you and you know who is, ‘ There is always a mountain higher than the highest mountain. ‘

What say you about my piece on the Construction of the Isthmus of Kra Canal. You fellas can persuade Washington DC to support for the good of all and by-pass the strategic choke-point of Malaysia. As you are aware, China without waiting for the Canal has opened the North East sea route , the Sinkiang rail route, and the Myanmar sea route to the West. WHAT IS SINGAPORE WAITING FOR WITH ALL THE SMART CHAPS WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO PRODUCE THE GOODS ? It is still not too late !

For Dont Be Small Minded. The Opposition cybertroops of some caliber like MNMN. saxyKkumar, yusof12, etc are now on the attack why the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore DID NOT FAIL. They start as usual with their style – to insult with snide remarks. OK. I love to reply to these supecilious defense of the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore. HE DID FAIL !
AND MY DEAR DONT BE SMALL MINDED, YOU ARE IN COMPLETE SELF-DENIAL if not the whole of Singapore will COLLAPSE DUE TO THE LOSS OF CONFIDENCE IN ALL THE HYPE WHICH HAVE BEEN CREATED SINCE 1959.

    1. Please do not put words into my mouth. Have you ever asked yourself why Singapore bought out Thaksin and this investment is still losing money now ? Were you born in the mid-1990s ? There was a debate on the construction of the Isthmus of Kra Canal. When Thaksin came into power, the world thought he was the only Thai who could build it. Your hero Lee Kuan Yew at the tail end of the debate claimed that this Canal will snuff out the activities of the Singapore Harbour. My view was that if we decide to build the Canal today it does not mean that it will be ready tomorrow. It will take 10 years or more. This will give us all the time to adjust to a new and higher level of economic endeavour for all ASEAN countries, THAILAND, MALAYSIA, AND SINGAPORE BEING THE PERFECT LOGISTIC CENTRE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE CANAL Not only will Singapore benefit, it would have given her time to re-adjust to the reality of the post-Cold War scenario. Your hero LKY said NO. Maybe he was afraid that Singapore will turn out like Palembang or Sparta. Vide. Singapore Business Times. S. Rajaratnam on Singapore and Sparta. 1982. WHEN THAKSIN SOLD, THE PANDORA’S BOX WAS OPENED WHICH EVEN SINGAPORE DID NOT FORESEE. The results still linger to this day. AND AS FOR SINGAPORE WITHOUT THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE CANAL, YOU SEE THE RESULTS EVERY DAY IN YOUR HOMELAND. What a pity ! The Americans would have been persuaded then with less complications then now to support because the Canal would encourage FREEDOM AND RAISED STANDARDS OF LIVING IN ACHEH, MYANMAR, SOUTH THAILAND, LAOS, CAMBODIA, VIETNAM, SOUTHERN PHILIPPINES, AND INDONESIA. Workers from these places instead of fighting will flock to work in the Canal. IT IS STILL NOT TOO LATE.

    2. You said I decry the MESS SINGAPORE A ONE STREET TOWN IS IN. I ONLY READ THE SINGAPOREAN NEWS MEDIA BECAUSE THERE IS NO SINGAPORE NEWS IN THE MALAYSIAN MEDIA. MY COMMENTS ARE ENTIRELY MY OWN DEDUCTIONS FROM EVENTS WHICH WERE REPORTED IN THE SINGAPOREAN MEDIA. NO MORE. NO LESS.
    3. YOU ARE VERY PROUD OF THE FACT THE THE S$ 1 is equivalent TO RM 2.50. MY DEAR FRIEND YOU FORGOT NOT TOO LONG AGO IT WAS S$ 1.03 was equivalent to RM 1.00. ( I was there ) It was not to our beloved Malaysia’s economic advantage to keep a hard currency.

What a great pity THE LAST MONUMENTAL STRUCTURE TO BE BUILT BY HUMANKIND WAS NOT BUILT UNDER THAKSIN ! The whole of ASEAN especially Singapore will zoom to new heights in democracy, standard of living and new business opportunities.

LET US HOPE YOUR HERO THE BRILLIANT LEE KUAN YEW SAY SOMETHING NICE ON THE CANAL ON HIS FORTHCOMING BIRTHDAY. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SIR ! For the benefit of the World.

PS. You would agree that the 2 Casino licences cannot be compared with the construction of the Isthmus of Kra Canal. After 2 years, everything fizzled out. And with a GDP of 3.5% your Singaporean inflation can only be kept down by your expensive currency which side effects are reflected in your tourist arrivals. Your Singapore my friend is caught BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE. I have never heard of a LOSS is not a LOSS and only a GAIN COUNTS.

  22. Dont be small minded Sep 2,2013 11:46 AM

    mubarakchan,

Chinese ancient teaching: dont use your small mind to measure a great man’s heart. Or else you will never learn and progress.

So a few simple points for all to ponder on your claims:
    a) if Singapore is responsible for the Thailand coup, Thaksin downfall and the Thai’s blood shed ( a very serious claim by you), why are they stilll best of pal even when there a change of Thai government? why are still allowed to to train their SAF in Thai territory? why their gov and gov and people and people ties remain strong?

    b) if Singapore is such a screw up country with no human rights, losing citizen’s money, a corrupt judiciary, incompetent leaders who enrich themselves with super high pay, implement all the wrong policies (including the 9 that you keep harping about), why do foreigners all queue up to want to become their PRs and citizen.? Many of those queuing are Malaysians. Why do they want to work there and pay CPF which is a big con-job scheme that will lose their money, as claimed by you?Are these Malaysians and foreigners stupid? Or maybe they are smart, with a big mind to see things objectively and thus able to make big decisions that involve their lives and families’ future, instead of using small mind and sit in front of a computer and keep pointing out of our neighbour’s shortcomings without looking at our problem at home? Why do world leaders keep flocking there to learn? Why do they want to cooperate and seek help to develop their countries?

    c) why is their currency so strong? Why they keep progressing? they have zero natural resources. they have no land, no water. if so many countries can learn valuable lessons from them and progress (e.g China, Vietnam), is singapore really so screw-up, like what you claimed? Can we look at ourselves instead of keep throwing stones at our neighbour’s achievements in enevy and jealousy? can we open our mind and learn?

    1. In the case of Malaysia, we lost money, territories, assets, etc in PEACE TIME AND NOT THROUGH WAR.

    2. In the case of Singapore, NO ONE ATTACKED HER AND YET SHE IMPLODED IN OCTOBER 2008 AND IS SLIPPING DOWN THE SLIPPERY SLOPE OF HER DYSFUNCTIONAL MERITOCRATIC PYRAMID OF ‘YES’ MEN WITH THE SMARTEST FELLOW ON TOP.

    Salam,

Lebai PAS pun sama, sikit harap parti makin merundum DAP pun tak pandang hang pa lansung. La ni pun dah mula dah. Orang DAP yang hang pa suka puji sikit hari mungkin mengeji hang pa sebab hang pa tak pandai mengkaji pernagai depa.

Tun Mahathir dan Datuk Mukhriz tak kenal saya jadi maka saya tiada apa2 kepentingan,Saya berpendapat Datuk Mukhriz serupa macam bapa dia kecuali kurang sikit rambut kot.

    1. Do you know the power of brainwashing by the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore ? Go and read the comments in the 2 websites which confirm what I have been saying about LKY and his 9 failed policies.
    2. To build a Nation after colonization, you will agree we are better than Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Singapore, all the African States, South America, etc. ?
    3. To build a Nation, you do not force reduce an indigenous population from 100% in 1959 to 62% in 2013. Vide Singapore Government’s White Paper on Population. ONLY HITLER HAS DONE IT IN THE LAST 100 YEARS ! So your hero, is HITLER 2.0 ! Right ? AND REPLACE IT WITH HUMANKIND OF HIS CHOICE. WHY NOT IMPORT SOME AFRICANS, PAKISTANIS, BANGLADESHIS, EGYPTIANS, SOUTH AMERICANS FOR A GOOD UNITED NATIONS MIX ? Why import only Chinaman and some sprinkling of very rich Indians for window dressing ? Please explain. Why only Chinaman ? Why play around with demographics to keep the Government in POWER ?

You do not even see that this is for the SELF-GLORIFICATION AND AGGRANDISEMENT OF YOUR HERO THE BRILLIANT LEE KUAN YEW WITH HIS 9 FAILED POLICIES FOR SINGAPORE. Who picks up the TAB ? You my dear friend if you got assets in Singapore and the peoples of Singapore. Those who are not brainwashed, would have emigrated long long ago.
    5. THIS CHARADE OF SINGAPORE MORE ADVANCE THAN OUR BELOVED MALAYSIA IMPLODED IN OCTOBER 2008. BEFORE THIS, YOUR HERO LEE KUAN YEW THOUGHT EVERYTHING WAS JUST FINE AS PER HIS BRILLIANT MIND. Then, October 2008, MAN PROPOSES, GOD DISPOSES. This should be cenotaph for Singapore. The date of the peak of your beloved Singapore should be when your hero LEE KUAN YEW RETIRED AT 65.
    6. 8. HOW CAN YOU COMPARE OUR BELOVED MALAYSIA WITH THE FAILED STATE SINGAPORE WHO HAD TO RELY ON DEVIOUS AGREEMENTS TO SURVIVE ? SHE FAILS EVEN WHEN SHE GET FREE WATER PAID FOR BY OUR BELOVED MALAYSIA. SINGAPORE HAS NO MORE INDIGENOUS HUMAN RESORCES OR ANY NATURAL RESOURCES AND EXISTS BY THE POWER OF YOUR BRILLIANT LEE KUAN YEW WITH HIS 9 FAILED POLICIES FOR SINGAPORE ! So far so good.

With all the failed policies of LKY that you have listed, and all the superb and successful polices of Tun, coupled with the tremendous natural resources of Malaysia (oil, palm, rubber, tin, bauxite, etc. etc.), Malaysia should be much more developed than Singapore in terms of GDP per capita, and a first world country. 2. THE BRILLIANT LEE KUAN YEW WITH HIS 9 FAILED POLICIES FOR SINGAPORE DID ALL HIS WONDERS WHEN HE HAD HIS WORLD CLASS TEAM WITH HIM. For The On. Sorry. You picked on the wrong fella again like HockBengTeohhalfpast6 and my now good friend Balance. That’s me. Let us put everything into facts and perspective.

    1. ON THE SINGAPORE’S OFFICIAL LOSS OF US108 BILLIONS (RM 350 Billions) OVERNIGHT ON WALL STREET IN OCTOBER 2008. Vide. Channelnewsasia. LEE KUAN YEW November 2008. All Singaporean Bloggers 2009-2013. Financial Times London. Gillian Tett ‘ Singapore’s Harvard University Investment Model ‘. April 2010. The Star. Seah Chiang Nee Saturday Column.
Singapore through the years and decades had without failed told the World of their vaunted meritocractic system. Malaysia did not. How is it that this vaunted meritocratic system failed at the most critical period of Singapore’s young history with probably THE BIGGEST LOSS EVER INCURRED BY EITHER A COUNTRY OR A CORPORATION which was US$108 Billions the OFFICIAL FIGURE WITH I TAKE IT AS THE MINIMUM. Within a year, the Singapore Government assured the citizens all the money was recovered WHICH IS YOUR LINE HERE !
From the Singapore Government side, you may treat this as development expenditure plus a share fluctuation reserve account. OK. But on the Government vis-a-vis the CPF which is now loaded with billions and billions of IOU Notes from the Singapore Government. What did they do ? THEY TRIED TO RAMP UP THE VALUE OF THE HDB FLATS AND MADE THE OWNERS PAY AND PAY (PAP). This back-fired in the 2011 General Elections. THERE IS STILL A BIG VOID OR BLACK HOLE BETWEEN THE SINGAPORE GOVERNMENT’S ACCOUNT WITH THE CPF. AS LONG AS THE CPF DOES NOT DEMAND ITS MONEY BACK, IT IS OK. BUT IF IT DOES, THE SINGAPORE GOVERNMENT HAS TO BORROW MONEY TO REPAY ALL THE IOU CHITS. If you have Singapore Dollars, I strongly advise you to change to Japanese Yen because the Singapore Dollars value is OK as long as Washington DC backs it 101% ! And also, I hope you sleep well at night because from the frying pan of UBS, Bank of America, Citibank of the old capital World your meritocratic Singapore has jumped into the new capital market of CHINA and its banks. If all these painful losses are for a POLITICAL PURPOSE, I HAVE NO COMPLAINT BECAUSE IT IS NONE OF MY BUSINESS. If not, then all these boys and girls should return all their MBAs to their mentors with interest.

    2. THE HASTY PUBLICATION OF ‘ THE MALAYSIAN MAVERICK ‘ IN 2010 TO OFFSET THE EMBARASSING LOSS OF US$108 BILLIONS (RM350 BILLIONS) -OFFICIAL FIGURE WHICH WAS THE MINIMUM- by the World’s Second Best meritocratic country.

The purported loss of RM100 Billions (US$35 Billions) – a figure probably jacked up to be sensational in 2010 – was over 22 years and not over 22 hours as in the SINGAPORE’S SPECULATIVE SPREE WITH CPF TRUSTEE MONEY BELONGING TO THE CITIZENS OF SINGAPORE. Not only that, I perceived that this Trust money was given to the HOI POLLOI OF WALL STREET TO INVEST which means A SOVEREIGN COUNTRY ABDICATED ITS SOVEREIGNTY, NATIONAL INTEREST, SELF ESTEEM . Unfortunately, the HOI POLLOI WAS PROVED TO BE REALLY HOI POLLOI IN OCTOBER 2008 for the World to see.

The purported padded loss of RM100 Billions by Malaysia over 22 years maybe taken as Development Expenditures. It was US$35 Billions (RM100 Billions) over 22 years as compared with Singapore’s speculative fling of US$108 (RM350 Billions) with the CPF Trust citizens money and a loss over 22 hours. I remember the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore that the investments were locked in for 30 years soon after October 2008 !
NOW WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MALAYSIA’S PURPORTED PADDED LOSS OF RM100 BILLIONS OVER 22 YEARS ? In Singapore, we know who is responsible. It can only be the much vaunted and flaunted pyramid with the smartest fellow on top. This debacle is reflected in the announcements of 2 Singaporean Ministers that from now on, academic qualifications will not be the only critieria for promotion but also a person’s hidden talents. Kudos for rectifying a wrong.
I CAN LITERALLY AND HONESTLY PIN-POINT THE RM100 BILLIONS (US$35 BILLIONS) MALAYSIAN LOSSES TO BUNGLING BY THE CLOSEST AIDES AND NOT BY TUN DR MAHATHIR MOHAMAD. I SHOULD KNOW !

FROM FACTS AND WITNESSES, we now for the very first time know for sure WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOSSES OF RM100 BILLIONS (RM35 Billions) over 22 years by Malaysia which maybe put down to development expenditure and the US$108 Billions (RM350 Billions) over 22 hours by the Singapore Government from the CPF Trust citizens funds which maybe put down to trading.

THE LOSSES IN BOTH COUNTRIES WERE DUE TO THE CLOSEST AIDES WHO COULD NOT SAY ‘NO’ BUT ‘YES’ TO THE BOSS ! I should know !

And the new China Capital Market ? Akan datang !

In a few hours, our beloved Malaysia will be celebrating 56 years of democracy, Malaysian democracy. But since 2003, our home-grown detractors, cynics, vulgaristas, etc. have had a field day in having it their way until recently on heaping negatives at you. For their unbelievable eyes, here is are the lists of things which you did not do during your 22 years Administration :-

    1. The brilliant Lee Kuan Yew’s 9 failed Policies for Singpapore.
    i) The use of money as an instrument of Foreign Policy.
ii) The loss of US$108 Billions (RM350 Billions) of Trust money on Wall Street.
iii) The 2 Child Family Policy.
iv) Humanity and Multiculturalism were not practised.
    v) A Perfunctory Judiciary
vi) Importation of key essentials, licences etc. on a selective basis.
vii) The Prime Minister was/is around from 1959 – 2013.

And within your powers during your 22 year Administration, you did not :-

    1. Re-arrange the UN-Saddam Hussein Sanctions.
    2. Re-arrange 2 oil exploration blocks
    3. Parachute a PAP cadre into the Chief Editor post of the New Straits Times looking for low hanging fruits.
    4. Lose Pulau Batu Putih in 2008 AND
    5. Bought the shares of the Indonesian International Bank at top price from Temasek Singapore and Kookmin. The DAP now alleges Maybank will lose billions soon.
    7. Shares sold and re-purchase, and shares sold out of the Government.
    8. 25 Miles of steel rails rightfully belonging to the KTM
    9. Nearly One Trillion Ringgits flowed out illicitly between 2003 and 2009.

However, the following did take place during your 22 year Administration as follows :-

    1. An excellent Healthcare System as survey by Bloomberg.
    2. The new Christians in their RM2 incorporated churches and other religions were permitted to operate freely without a Singapore-like Charities Commission. In their gratitude, these bongo bongo voodoo choral and dancing troupes go all out to politically to beat the BN as led by the UMNO with the 13 component parties.
    3. Private educational colleges and universities were permitted to bloom.
    4. A huge middle income group which provide employment to others were created – 750,000 Malay businesses alone when there was hardly any in 1970.
    5. Full employment for the working people.
    6. Highways interlace the land.
    7. Light industries sprung up. The biggest is connected with the automotive industry.
    8. Security was a given.
    9. Privatisation provided hope for all to have upward mobility.
    10. Towering buildings and developments to garner foreign exchange, new investments etc.

    mubarakchan,

With all the failed policies of LKY that you have listed, and all the superb and successful polices of Tun, coupled with the tremendous natural resources of Malaysia (oil, palm, rubber, tin, bauxite, etc. etc.), Malaysia should not be much more developed than Singapore in terms of GDP per capita, and a first world country.

BTW, that US$108b loss by the SWF was paper loss at the trough of the financial crisis. The portfolio has more than recovered and instead of a loss, it is showing healthy profit.

2 Policies failures of the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew were inadvertently left out.

    8. The highest paid Ministers in the World.
    9. The creation of the Singaporean Trojan Horse DAP in 1966 which did nothing for 47 long years but contemplated their navels so much so their brilliant spiritual leader Lee Kuan Yew had to write a book to hint to these intellectualy inferior types to him what to do after all these years of waiting. 50 years out of power is a very long time in politics when a political party is formed to rule a country !

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, YOU WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR

    1. The 1962 Water Agreement with Singapore which ended up in 2013, our beloved Malaysia did not even get the 2 sens worth but pays and pays (PAP) to deliver the free water to Singapore.
    2. The alleged Indian Palm Oil Tariff Bungle in the early 1980s.
    3. All the apparently money scandals as embodied in a late author’s book, ‘ Malaysian Maverick ‘ which could be put down as ‘ Development Expenditures ‘ – a hundred billion ringgits (US$ 35 Billions) over 22 years and not over 22 hours on Wall Street. I am of the opinion that the aides involved were entirely responsible as we can discern in the case of every Prime Minister on both sides of the Causeway. You had only one aide that was loyal and creditable and reliable. The others were just fakes. Here is my list of how the aides did the distinguished great men in :-

    1. The Tunku. He had good aides but the Chinese ones were just playboys and the whole lot out of date. The Tunku was a good man.
    2. Tun Abdul Razak. He was also a great man who had the best aides of all. Most of them went on to be great in their own right.
    3. Tun Hussein Onn. He was a fine gentleman and knew his role which kept him being cautious with aides and the like. But he like all our Prime Ministers was gracious to retire from power and money.
    4. The Tun. I should know what is a good aide and what is a bad one. ONE GOOD AIDE IS WORTH A THOUSAND GOOD AIDES ! As a picture is worth a thousand words !
    5. Tun Abdullah Badawi. A very good man as chosen by the Tun. But then it was alleged the aides turned up on the 4th Floor !
    6. Our distinguished Prime Minister Dato Seri Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak. From the latest Blog today, I read the the Pemandu or whatever is driven by 9, yes 9, young Chinese who came from nowhere in the Malaysian firmament and are unqualified, uneducated and inexperienced in Malaysian public affairs and probably craft beautiful ‘ YES’ papers for the Boss. No wonder !

And the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew. A good and brilliant Prime Minister who had all those smart ‘yes’ craftsmen or aides with an axe to grind, around him who could not say ‘NO’ otherwise those 9 failed Policies would not have happened and he would really be the finest Prime Minister ever !

PRIME MINISTERS ! BEWARE OF CRAFTY AND SMART YOUNG AIDES BEARING BEAUTIFUL ‘YES ‘ PAPERS WHO KNOW THE WAYS OF THE BOSS ! They all know the saying, ‘ Beware of Greeks bearing gifts ‘. You bet !

    11. All Government Policies gave a sense of purpose and hope for all. There was no hidden purpose or motive.
    12. And many many more to form the base for the next advancement for the benefit of all.

With a beautiful hindsight, a Monitoring Unit should be created in the Prime Minister’s Dept. to monitor the new owners of the ex-GLCs who should now be like Caesar’s wife beyond reproach in their new businesses and normalcy is the watchword.

  39. mubarakchan Aug 29,2013 10:49 AM

    Tun

I hope you forgive me for being long-winded on the subject of the GLCs. This subject as you are aware is linked to the very success of the Malays and Bumiputras in entrepreneurial flair and endeavour with a strong connection to the success of non-Malay enterprises as well because in business, no Man or Woman is an island ! Let us begin with history.

Our supporters of the GLCs always mentioned Singapore as their role model. This is false because it is like comparing chalk and cheese. We are a medium sized country with ample human and natural resources. Singapore has nothing and a trading entreport to begin with.
Its Government launched the Jurong Industrial Park in the late 1960s. Many of my friends including myself (a most modern Swiss biscuit factory now the Meiji) invested in it but found that the following were lacking i) as traders who have no gumption and staying power to be real industrialists ii) the Singaporean market place was small and was completely dominated by brands iii) industrial set-ups were not consonant with each other unlike Hong Kong. Eventually all these small factory businesses were overtaken either by Singapore Government owned entities or multi-nationals to fill the void of Singaporean industrialization.
In the case of our beloved Malaysia, we have hundreds of entrepreneurs who are will to take up this intangible thing known as business. We need to develop the private sector Malay and Bumiputra businesses so that the non-Malay businesses may move on together to greater heights in our quest to be a developed Nation by 2020. Government owned business is actually contretemps with the original thinking of privatizing Government entities to increase efficiency and faster delivery. Your thinking was proven to be correct but cataclysmic events soon overwhelmed the souls who were chosen for their tasks. But this blip in business endeavour is the prelude to greater things to come and my view is that the Government should have nothing to do with the GLCs and leave the whole lot to the private sector as follows :-

    1. The Government returns the GLCs to their former owners if no law has been broken.
    2. The Government sells off the GLCs to new Bumiputra owner and their local or foreign partners if any or both.
    3. The Government sells off the GLCs to the Management and their local or foreign partners if any or both.

The cogent reasons are as follows :

    1. The removal of feelings of jealousy amongst the Civil Service.
    2. Accountability.
    3. Why should the Government be involved in an area of development when the Private Sector can do just as well if not better.
    3. Why should the Government makes money in the Private Sector in direct competition with the very people the Government is trying to create and promote ? The money made in the GLCs is very small compared with the utilisation of the released captial from the GLCs to improve the infrastructures for development and the collection of the increased revenues themselves.
    4. Corruption is eliminated.
    5. Singapore failed to turn wheeling dealing traders into industrialists and corporate leaders so the Government had to step in to fill the void. It is a fallacy to copy-cat Singapore which has VERY CLEAR OBJECTIVES IN HER MIND ! WE TOO HAVE VERY CLEAR OBJECTIVES BUT DEFINITELY GLCs making money for the Government with no accountability is NOT A MALAYSIAN DISH IN MALAYSIA’S CUISINE ! For the Government to carry billionand billions of ringgits for the benefit of a FEW with no accountability !

With the exception of Singapore which is exceptional, Malaysia is now doing something which is uncalled for outside a CRISIS !

This morning in the New Straits Times Wednesday 29th August 2013, ‘ Malaysia’s Healthcare Among the most efficient ‘ Malaysia was ranked 18th and the United States 46th. This only a minor accolade to your magnificent 22 year Administration as compare with your other ideas and achievements. And yet it seemed it was only yesterday, when all of us Rakyat were nearly forced to accept a diabolical Healthcare Scheme concocted by the Ministry of Health in 2011 under the guise of adopting the excellent United States Healthcare system to reduce costs and increase efficiency. This aborted Healthcare Scheme as proposed by the Government was a load of rubbish and I could not believe that you as our Prime Minister for 22 years left us in the lurch in healthcare terms. Independent surveys by Bloomberg have now proven that this is only your minor achievement for the Rakyat in your excellent record of achievements with no self-glorification. See how the sly and the cunning tried to take advantage of the Rakyat ! Without normalcy, the Government funds for healthcare would be wasted for self-serving purposes in view of the fact that our Rakyat including your goodself have an excellent chance of touching 100 ! It is time for the authorities to try to save at every turn of the coin. These are the very people, the authorities, who are paid to protect us and not sell us down river.
The 19 fervent TPPA negotiations is a case in point when I read that 750,000 Malay business persons petitioned the Government for justice and fair play. This sends a shudder down my spine as we are all aware that their extended families could number anything up to 10 per family which encompass a population of 7.50 millions. Besides, if each of these businesses just employ 2 persons, the total number of employees are 1.50 millions. Just to consider these 2 factors alone is 9 millions souls WHO DEPEND ON THE AUTHORITIES WHO ARE PAID TO PROTECT US WITHIN THE PARAMETERS OF SOVEREIGNTY, NATIONAL INTEREST, SELF-ESTEEM. And we are not even talking about the non-Malays and the snow-ball effect which is difficult to fathom !
IT IS SO VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE BN AS LED BY THE UMNO WITH THE 13 COMPONENT PARTIES OBSERVES THE RULE OF LAW, IMPLEMENTS FAIR AND TRANSPARENT POLICIES, MAINTAINS A NORMAL AND FUNCTIONING BUREAUCRACY, ESCHEWS DOING BUSINESS WITH THE GLCs AND MAKING MONEY, AND FOCUS TO RULE US. There is nothing the Singaporean Trojan Horse DAP and its cohorts can do apart from making a lot of loud noises and a nuisance of themselves until the next 14th General Elections. If we all remember, these folks could not even gain power in Putrajaya in 3 EASY STEPS in 1997, 2008 and 2013 with Billions at their disposal !

Good morning YAB Tun and fellow bloggers,

    1. TQ Tun for your cynical but straight to the point messages.

    2. I can still remember the sissy rafizi asked khairy in the debate ‘apa you dengan bapak mertua you buat dengan duit petronas 127 billion tu..?..haha…can you imagine, hardly 6 years but dollah cleaned 127b from petronas…and then khairy demanded petronas to declare its incomes, assets, etc…to ensure they clean up all?

    3. That dollah got the cheek to say he did not published or printed or sponsored, etc the book, but admitted he was interviewed by those opportunists. See how dollah thought we are all fools…there are thousands of our enemies out there to sponsor the books…but who gave the information?

    4. Dollah admitted he said what he had to say because he is an open-minded person, a frank guy…therefore those accusations about Tun are planned by him.

    5. That dollah introduced disaster like giving media freedom, giving too much freedom for netizens, bribed bar council by sponsoring their dinner, getting anwar out of jail earlier, etc…did not run the country well, lost several states and not getting 2/3…and he dared to make negative comments on Tun…my god, dollah ni dah nyanyuk dah.

    Salam Tun,

Long time me no comment here. Hated the way politics is polarizing this beloved nation of mine lately.
To this very day I curse Pak Lah’s decision to cancel the Jambatan Bengkok. The project has already been approved before you stepped down and we the rakyat was happy as this project would tremendously improve the water quality at the straits.
Anyway the stupid decision has passed and Singapore has almost completed its land reclamation project in Pengerang which actually is a backlash against the Jambatan Bengkok project although nobody will admit to it.
So the stupid decision by Pak Lah will always be remembered throughout history as a lasting testament of a weak and lame leader.

I would also like to point out the without the N-S highway our roads will be as advanced or even better than the roads in Indonesia and our airports will be on par as the ones in Cambodia.

Anyway I am very happy that Sejarah Tanah Melayu will be made a MUST PASS subject for SPM! Yeay I bet there will be many young upcoming gangsters Ah Bengs and Ah Mois and also amongst the Red Bean Army troopers now cursing their luck and trying to spin grandmother stories to oppose this great idea hahaha.

These people can go to hell and may I also again urge the government to implement a single school system to create a truly 1Malaysian race? Out with the SRJKs forever! These schools are the REAL culprits why this nation is polarized as it is today.

We have to learn from the Bruneians how to bestow citizenships to its people, and also learn from the Singaporeans how they sidelined the minority race there.

    Thank you.

  45. Ibnu Mukmin Aug 28,2013 10:08 AM

    Salam again Tun,

On the subject of the privatisation of KTMB.

I took the commuter from KL Sentral to Tg. Malim and it cost me (one way) only RM 7. And if you have the discount card it is only a paltry RM 3.50. When the guy at the ticket counter quoted me this price, my jaws just dropped. My god its so cheap.

No wonder KTMB has always been running with red ink in their books. I must say the new coaches are excellent, although the older ones leave a lot to be desired. Some of the air-conditioning are not working at all. With a packed coach on a hot day from KL to Seremban its anything but pleasant.

KTMB is a public service the government provides the commuting public. I must commend them on the very affordable fares. However, is it a sustainable financial operations? Must it be a subsidised public good just like the petrol, sugar, etc.? For how long can this continue?

Bringing KTMB private will either require the government to inject funds annually or that the fare needs to be raised to make the venture viable. This will be the conventional wisdom.

How about if the government makes a Blue Ocean paradigm shift in approach. Lets look at how HKMTR, the metro system in Hong Kong thrives when most other railway or Metro system finds it hard to breakeven.

In Hong Kong the HKMTR is given the right to develop the airspace above the station into tall commercial buildings and any adjacent plot of land still available. These commercial space are very profitable with the mass of people passing through the station and those companies which want to be above the station for travelling convenience. This model is especially effective in the very urban areas.

So in effect HKMTR is really a property developer whose is also providing the travelling links to their properties.

Besides KTMB, I believe RapidKL (and the other MRT lines) can also be modelled along these lines to make it a viable business venture.

    Thanks again Tun.

  46. Ibnu Mukmin Aug 28,2013 9:45 AM

    Salam Tun,

Please allow me to give my 2 cents worth regarding the privatisation of MAS (Malaysian Airline System.

As we all understand it the main reason this proposal was tabled was to address its consistently poor financial performance over many Quarters and many FYs. Several change of managements teams did not seem to be able to address this unhealthy state of affairs.

So it goes that the only other option left, is to privatise MAS. Privatisation it would see could address this problem as it is believed that the management will be more focused on the bottom-line and will have a freer hand at tackling the internal problems such as efficient procurements practices, effective processes and staff or human capital resistance to change. It will be able to choose whom it deems fit and had the right experience and attribute and is merited to lead the organization out of the red and give the likes of Air Asia and SIA a run for their money.

Is going private really the only way to tackle these problems mentioned above? I think not. It has a lot to do with leadership. And getting the right leader with the right vision and the ability to move the people in MAS is a very important prerequisite. It does not matter if this Leader is from the Government or private sector or a foreigner.

From that leader he needs to assemble the right team to support his vision for MAS.

One way the PM can proceed to tackle this is by forming a task team mandated to look for the right person to lead MAS. The task team should comprise people with vast airline experience with a proven successful record, staff union representative (for the pilots, cabin crew, ground crew and administration), other stakeholders, government and the PM himself no less.

This is important as it important that the person chosen MUST have the unequivocal support of the majority if not all the stakeholders. It will make his job a lot easier and he can jump start straight down to solving the technical problems.

Some of the staff may have to be asked to swallow some bitter pills, but as they say No Pain No Gain…Right!

Thanks again Tun for the space to air my views.

[Chapter 5. Malaysia. It is clearly written that the Singaporean Trojan Horse DAP is mixing with the wrong company because the latter is the same as the ruling company ! ]

I am in agreement with Mr Mubarakchan that DAP is mixing with the wrong company namely the outcast from UMNO or bad hat. DAP really look for trouble when they purposely team up with the outcast from former UMNO deputy president. Just you wait. What better way to stoke and instigate consternation and vendetta than to team up with your most bitter of enemy.

    Dear Tun,

Pak Lah is the typical example of the old Malay – easily content with what you have. Apparently till now he fails to realize the meaning of “no pain no gain’. Ironically he also fails to appreciate the Malay proverb ” Kalau tak dipecahkan ruyong, manakan dapat isinya”. As I’ve said before, just because one is religious, does not mean he can be a good leader. Many has not realize that Tun Mahathir has shown to the world Islam is a way of life. Until now, I ‘m still amazed at his effort and determination to bring peace to this world. Tun has sacrificed so much and yet risks condemnation and insult by the very people that Tun has helped. Well Tun, If Pak Lah became the PM ten years sooner than intended, I believe he could have sold this country and Islam is no longer the official religion of this country.

[Published: Monday August 26, 2013 MYT 8:52:00 PM

Kedah gets assurance TPPA will be rejected if it’s detrimental to public

ALOR SETAR: The Kedah government has been assured by International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed that the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) will not be approved if it is detrimental to the people in the state.

Mentri Besar Datuk Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir informed the State Legislative Assembly sitting on Monday that the assurance was also given by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He said the direct effects of TPPA that could be derived not only by the exporters but also the people of Kedah as consumers generally were the vast opportunity due to the opening up of the market in terms of the choice of goods and services.

It was capable of opening up investment opportunities of high quality for the people of Kedah besides raising the quality of life of the people to prepare themselves for competition at the global level, he said when replying to a question from Datuk Ir Amiruddin Hamzah (PAS-Anak Bukit). – Bernama]

TPPA is a partnership agreement meaning we complement one another in a win win situation and not competing against each other in a cut throat competition. Our FELDA products would find bigger and easier markets. On the other hand we can source state of the art machineries and inventions to process our FELDA products and pine apples and so on. Let us be adventurous a little to open up off shore markets abroad. Let us not just condemn ourselves and allow ourselves be saddled with unsold proton cars and wallow in self pity like a child. Go out there and start selling.
TPPA IS A commitment of enthusiasm to trade, meaning exchange products, nothing sinister or detrimental to the trading countries, unless we sell radio active waste or heroine and ganja to one another.

    Salam Tun.

For HockBengTeohhalfpast6. I refer you to your hero the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore’s latest book, ‘ One Man’s View of the World ‘. Chapter 1. Paragraph 1. He mentioned that China will always have a strong centre principle. I have been saying that when an Emperor chops off a few heads, the chinamen will toe the line, like under the British.
Paragraph 2. He stated that the chinamen did not understand the word democracy for 5,000 years and unlikely to do so. I mentioned that there is no such word ‘democracy’ in the chinamen’s vocabulary.
Last Paragraph. Your hero stated that the chinamen even in their most unhappy state are unlikely to go against the ruling Government. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I SAID ABOUT THE 90% MALAYSIAN CHINESE WHO VOTED FOR THE OPPOSITION IN A MOST UN-CHINESE BEHAVIOUR DUE TO DE-TRIBALIZATION. NO CHINAMAN OR WOMAN WOULD BEHAVE LIKE THIS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Stupid.
Chapter 5. Malaysia. It is clearly written that the Singaporean Trojan Horse DAP is mixing with the wrong company because the latter is the same as the ruling company ! Unless someone does not understand the author’s Cantabrigian English. Pour le vous Anglais, HockBengTeohhalfpast6 ? Please note you are wearing your apron upside down with the ROCKET EMBLEM POINTING DOWNWARDS ! Do not rocket yourself in your foot !

    Tun,

    Mohon izin menjawab musato lagi.

Beliau turut menuduh AS hanya tahu membuat tuduhan dan kemudiannya baru mencari bukti.
Petikan utusan Malaysia

    Salam Tun,

    May Allah bless you always.

It is really sad and unfortunate that Pak Lah did not share you ideas and aspirations when you handed him the reigns of leadership. You must have known so at the time. But as you mentioned there was a gentleman’s agreement between the two of you for Pak Lah to proceed with you initiated projects which we in progress after Pak Lah took over.

Pak Lah relegated on this agreement, right Tun.

However, the “Hikmah” found in this event is that it shows the sincerity and clean intentions that lies in Tun’s heart. There was no bad presumptions (buruk sangka) towards Pak Lah at that time. Its a strength and can also be seen as a weakness, depending on where you are looking at it.

Our Tun is pure of heart, a virtue highly regarded for All Muslims as exemplified by our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW. No one should doubt Tun’s sincerity and good intentions for this Country and ALL its people.

The same cannot be said of Lee Kuan Yew when he wiggles through to make his son the heir to the Singapore Throne. Especially, when it is very apparent this Lee Hsien Loong does not MERIT the position, with all the bad and failed policies he has introduced and for not being able to solve the problems the failed policies his father introduced in Singapore.
What a lot of BULL they are selling their Meritocracy.

So it goes that Anwar with his wife and daughter in tow and in line for the throne ala Lee Kuan Yew.

For those so smitten with DAP’s wholesale copying of Lee Kuan Yew’s PAP politics and policiesm it is proven beyond any reasonable doubt by Lim Kit Siang making his son Guan Eng heir to the throne and Karpal Singh making Gobind the same in line. You all better be ready for all the policies to be introduced to fail..it will not happen by the next GE but 10 to 15 years down the road as what is happening in Singapore. So to all the Malaysian Chinese and Indian DAP admirers who are swayed by DAP’s hard sell of the Singapore PAP policies, for the sake of your and your children’s future in this country please think deep and hard before your give away your liberty as the Singaporeans are be sold by their PAP leeders.

Thanks Tun for allowing me to pour out my feeling here in your distinguished blog.

Through the months and years, I have observed your good Bloggers seemed to be flummoxed by the unhappy events which arose after your reitirement in 2003. I suggest to them to refer to i) the normal personal behaviour of your goodself for a life-time ii) all those eye-catching infra-structures are your ideas as implemented iii) within the context of sovereignty, national interest and self-esteem, resulting in peace, stability and prosperity with a large middle-income group together with full employment for all.

Salam Tun,I am quite amased at your response to pak lah comment, nevertheless we must admit that Pak Lah is not your first choice. He has not lived to your expectation, but some how we proposed God dispose.
I think the issue here how malaysia can move forward by making Malaysian of all races progress in peace and harmony.
Our current leadership have done quite a good job to make the economy but then a lot improvement need to be done in term of capacity building, reduction of domestic debt, trade deficit, unemployment, high cost of living economic disparity between the have and the have not and also between races. What is more sickening,we are still divided by economic stigma parity.
I am afraid that with shrinking economic growth, and the lack progress in addresing economic cake,a lot of other issues creep in with danger. The issue of currency devaluation roared with vengeance, the corruption,PTTPN students load which come from EPF, have not been handle with greater vision.Other social issue such religion, gangterism, securities need to be tackled with swift action,
I think Pak Lah should come and help and not to make things more confusing.Other people looks very happy. The objective is to destroy steadily and firmly.
Current UMNO leadership have their job cut for them.Dumb those corrupt and bring in fresh leader with fresh ideas.Cooperate with opposition if there is what need to be done.Otherwise Museaum Negara will wait UMNO with eulogy written on the wall.

    Tun,

    Mohon izin menjawab musato.

He…he…he.

    Tun

For Amin Tan. It was the Tunku who saved Lee Kuan Yew from the Communists fronted by Lim Chin Siong. LKY was in a dilemma and the British were uncertain how to deal with such a delicate situation just before Singapore’s merger with Malaya. In 1962, my relative Tan Sri C.C. Too was sent down to Singapore on a hush-hush meeting for 3 days with LKY and George Bogaars only. Tan Sri C. C. Too’s advice was the Operation Cold Storage which hauled in all the Leftists in the PAP and left room for LKY to have the power to this day. Lim Chin Siong did not go to America. After his release, he went to study law in London and I believe he died at a young age there. When Tan Sri C. C. Too retired he wrote a letter to LKY which he showed me, seeking some form of University recognition for his services after taking cognizance of the LLDs galore which LKY lavished on very senior Malaysian Civil Servants after their retirement. But there was no reply. LKY was at the famous Raffles College, Singapore with Tan Sri C. C. Too and our distinguished Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad attended later as part of the renown King Edward Vii Medical College. These undergraduates provided all the political leadership of independent Malaya and Singapore to this day. According to my elder sister, who was there, nascent Malayan nationalism were very much in evidence in those early days.

  68. amin tan Aug 26,2013 1:05 PM

    Dear Tun,
please allow me to enquire Mr Mubarakchan of the early history and the origin of political power of Lee Kuan yew.
Lim Chin Siong was the chairman of Socialist Party and Lee Kuan Yew was the secretary. Lim chin siong was more popular and a better Hokkien public speaker in Singapore’s mainly Chinese population. But Lee Kuan Yew was English educated and better connected with the British who had the police and military muscle to arrest Lim Chin Siong. Lee Kuan Yew had the British guns and Lim Chin Siong had the Chinese voters. Voters eventually lost to the barrel of the gun in the eventual power game. Lim Chin Siong was arrested by Lee Kuan Yew under ISA for life without trial and banished , not to St Helena, but to Sentosa island. The last I heard He was exiled to America and was never to return.

  72. mubarakchan Aug 26,2013 6:48 AM

    Tun

For ChuPaCheah and meijian1990 and the discerning Blogger interested in our brand of Malaysian democracy, I wish to point out that the dysfunctional Blue KMT MCA has now turned RED whilst the sleepy Rip van Winkle Socialist Democrat Singaporean Trojan Horse DAP has turned BLUE (via LKY their spiritual founder and Washington DC). As the good Tun has mentioned a week is a long time in our Malaysian Democratic Politics.
When the dysfunctional KMT MCA was BLUE, this was what the leadership could garner in assets since 1949. The list is not in chronological order.

    1. This leader was grinning from ear to ear in the lst Class cabin of the SIA carrying his Samsonite briefcase emblazoned with the words in white ‘YB………Selangor State Executive Councillor.’ My eyes nearly dropped out. I believed our Federal Customs gave him a good send-off.
    2. Another skillful leader could remit Singapore Dollars 100 Millions from Singapore to Hong Kong after just 6 years in politics.
    3. But this leader was caught having sticky fingers with his Ministry’s share allotments.
    4. Another leader was caught padding up a construction contract and was reputed to own a substantial estate.
    5. This leader walloped 2 monopolies whilst in office together with at least 4 pieces of the best HMS properties, a luscious construction contract and a high density project. And he was running his family business from his bedroom.
    6. Another leader could garner the very best properties en mass in Kuala Lumpur and London.
    7. A leader told me he could make at least RM 20 Millions whilst sitting in his air-conditioned office.
    8. This leader already had 2 monopolies before becoming a leader and could expand and consolidate his business empire thereon.
    9. But this leader even though he had a monopoly, his properties were mismanaged by his proxies.
    10. The British lost out to this leader who grabbed their properties and called them his own.
    11. This imprudent leader told all and sundry that 2 Governments owed him and one had already fulfilled his desires. I would have thought his duty is first and foremost to our beloved Yang Di Pertuan Agong of Malaysia !
    12. At a fund raising function, this leader shouted at the top of his voice, ‘ We fight them because they call us names.’ Later, an up-market residents associaiton in the area in which he lived sought his help, he was no where to be found. But I saw him and his family strolling happily in a Mall just before the 5 May General Elections.
    13. One leader had a monopoly to supply spare parts.
    14. A chemical monopoly was garnered by this astute leader.
    15. And not the last of all, this leader had a monopoly which collapsed after his patron retired.

AND YET THE CHINESE, THE MALAYSIAN CHINESE NOT THOSE IN BLUE OR RED, ARE LEFT TO SORT OUT THEIR VITAL RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE OTHER COMMUNITIES AND WHAT SHOULD BE A NON-ISSUE, THE MANDARIN LANGUAGE.

    It is a small world.

Addendum to my comment for ChuPaCheah and meijian1990. Even when the good Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad lived normally throughout his 22 Year Administration with his famous note-book, the number of supporters were 100 thick at all times. And so it is with those who came after him, these people appeared as if by magic. It took the Tun’s discipline character and training to lessen the mistakes and damage created by these clever and crafty ‘yes’ men and women. Just look at the damage these crafty ‘yes’ men and women done by them in the deep South. If a Prime Minisster is not careful like the good Tun and his predecessors, especially the wonderful Malaysia handed over on a plate for the successors to govern and rule, time and money just fly away like nobody’s business as we Malaysians say !!!

  76. mubarakchan Aug 25,2013 2:02 PM

    Tun

For ChuPaCheah and weijian1990 on ‘Racial Polarization’. Sorry I could not comment in the allotted comment box because there are 310 comments.

In a short summary of Malaysian politics and its many pitfalls which beset us now, it is best to reflect on its history, the past, the present and the future. I will briefly state my own view of the present conundrum concerning the Chinese, the Malaysian Chinese why they are all up a greasy pole ?

    1. From 2003, all manner of attacks were directed at Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. This grew in intensity after 2008 when it was realised by the Opposition that the Tun is a great leader of men and women. Words like racist, and other words which are unmentionable were hurled at him. As if everything which did not seem to be right was heaped on him.
    2. THE FACT IS THAT THE MCA WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE BALANCING FACTOR FROM 1957 DID NOT DO THEIR ALLOTTED JOB AT ALL. The leadership was more interested in material gain than philosophical theories. The creation of logistics back-up for a major political party never took place. With all the money making activities by the previous MCA leadership, no one did any forward planning for the future which takes decades to achieve. AS LONG AS UMNO WAS OK MCA WAS OK. Then, after 2003, the UMNO lost the KEY to the traditional rule over our beloved Malaysia. The HOLLOWNESS AND FAKE IMAGE OF THE MCA WAS EXPOSED FOR ALL TO SEE even with their 3,500 branches.
    3. The KONGSI COMPACT which has been mentioned is only one of the many which can only be hammered out right at the top between different sets of leadership. IF THE MCA LEADERSHIP HAVE ONLY IDEAS TO MAKE MONEY, do not BLAME OTHERS ESPECIALLY THE UMNO LEADERSHIP FOR NEGLECTING THE NEEDS OF THE CHINESE. To run a major political party successfully, a huge army of professional staff is required – not just those who speaks Mandarin and read the Sin Chew Jit Poh. Any one who knows 1,000 Chinese characters can do so.
    4. The NEGLECT BY THE MCA LEADERSHIP WHICH WAS UN-QUALIFIED, UNEDUCATED AND INEXPERIENCED IN PUBLIC AFFAIRS THROUGH THE DECADES left themselves with nothing substantive to back them up in vital negotiations if any was ever held. LEADING TO THE DIACHOTOMY OF INTER-COMMUNAL RELATIONSHIPS AND A LANGUAGE, THE MANDARIN LANGUAGE WHICH SHOULD NOT BE POLITICISED !
    5. It is a tough job being a politician. NOW IT IS NOT JUST THE GLIB OF THE TONGUE OR A QUICK TURN OF THE MIND to be one. This is 19th century stuff. If properly practised, POLITICS IS A NOBLE PROFESSION.
    6. ON THE BN POWER STRUCTURE, it is absurd to blame the UMNO WHICH MEANS THE UNITED MALAY NATIONAL ORGANISATION FOR THE UNHAPPINESS OF THE CHINESE, THE MALAYSIAN CHINESE. IT IS THE MCA WHICH SHOULD TAKE THE FULL RESPONSIBILITY AS THE LEADERSHIP WAS MORE THAN FULLY PAID TO DO THIS ONEROUS JOB which was neglected since 1957.
    6. THE DE-TRIBALIZATION OF THE CHINESE, THE MALAYSIAN CHINESE LEAD TO MORE CONFUSED AND UNHAPPY MENTAL STATE OF THESE PEOPLE. AND ADDED TO THIS, THE DOWNTURN OF THE ECONOMY FROM 2003 COMPOUNDED THEIR FEELING OF FRUSTRATION AND ANGST. On top of all these, the MCA was dysfunctional and the goodies which used to flow down the slippery slope of the power pyramid were SEEN TO DEFY GRAVITY BY FLOWING TO THE APEX. We really have a heady inflammable mix.
    7. The sly and cunning began to exploit the situation since 2003 but did not succeed. BECAUSE THEY WERE EVEN MORE UNQUALIFIED, UNEDUCATED AND INEXPERIENCED IN PUBLIC AFFAIRS THAN THOSE THEY WISH TO TOPPLE ! They could not even gain P0WER IN 3 EASY STEPS from 1997 -2913. So much so the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore wrote a book recently to urge the Singaporean Trojan Horse DAP to leave their dysfunctional troika relationship and maybe to join the BN.
    7. History will tell us that whichever way we toss the dice, the RED MCA IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LACK OF PERFORMANCE AND DELIVERY IN ALL THESE YEARS SINCE 1957 due to their well-known self-serving interests.
    8. Of course, the leadership of the BN as led by the UMNO with the 13 component parties from 1957 have made mistakes too. What saved us was the adherence to the First Principles of Administration which was left to us AND THE BOUNTIFUL HUMAN AND NATURAL RESOURCES OF THIS LAND.
    9. HOW TO REVERT TO THOSE WONDERFUL YEARS AGAIN ? JUST WORK, LIVE, EAT AND SLEEP NORMALLY. Do not try to reach for the Sun like Icarus or our brilliant neighbour.

    Assalamualaikum Tun,

I wonder if ISA can be activate back since after it was demolish, many bad people already brave enough to spark a racist sentiment (in religious and in races) among citizens. You can see it in the newspapers nowadays.

Besides hired killer and its mastermind already start to plague our land with many cases. Not to forget an enemy from foreign land too.

I think government should reconsider about this. If for me, I’m not only will activate the ISA but I will strengthen it to punish this wicked mind for eternity. Thanks Tun.

    Tun,

    Salam Tun.

  80. Idea Aug 25,2013 1:13 AM

    Dear Tun,

May you always be in good health.

    The Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP)

    1. TPP negotiators are secretive so much so other government officials and the public are left clueless.

    2. TPP Open Day was held on August 1, 2013. Despite the name, the event was not informative. The public would not be able to give value-adding feedback without adequate information.

    3. I have read responses to your posting on the TPP; both on your blog and your facebook. There were a number of responses from MITI officers. But those responses were rather capricious.

    Threshold Values for Government Procurement

    4. We know that there is Government Procurement chapter in the TPP Agreement. Under this chapter, foreign companies are allowed to bid for government works. However, they are not permitted to bid for works below the specified threshold values.

    5. Threshold values may be set in categories (goods, services and construction) to safeguard our policy in grooming the Malay/Bumiputera entrepreneurs. With the participation of Malay/Bumiputera in businesses, we increase the country’s economic potential; just like allowing women to actively engage in both white collar and blue collar workforce.

    6. I do not know the threshold amounts being negotiated. Nor do I know whether there are supplemental conditions tabled by the negotiators.

    7. However, we should be concerned with two factors when negotiating the threshold values. These factors are inflation and Special Drawing Rights (SDR).

    Inflation

    8. Over time, the value of money decreases. For 30 sen, in the 1980s, one could buy a ‘roti canai’. Today, the same amount of money does not permit one to have the same ‘roti canai’.

    9. Similarly, a value set decades ago is now not as meaningful as it was. The price of our water sold to Singapore is exemplary. 3 sen per 1,000 gallons is now nonsensical.

    10. In the case of TPP, if there is no adjustment clause pertaining to the threshold values, the intention to help the Malays/Bumiputeras will be hampered. Future procurements will be too small to groom them, rendering Malay/Bumiputera policy ineffective.

    * Certain quarters say the New Economic Policy (NEP) formed to help the above group was already ineffective. Thus, they question why make another one. They must understand that the NEP was not a failure. There was progress but it was slow.

The target of 30% Malay/Bumiputera participation in the economy was not achieved in time mainly due to the unwillingness of private sector (dominated by the Chinese) to share the same goal. Diverting from this fact, some blame the practice of cronyism and nepotism in the government procurement.

We must bear in mind, although skewing the distribution of works, cronyism and nepotism did not deviate from giving works to the Malays/Bumiputeras. The works were still given to these people. This in fact contributed towards increasing the share of Malays/Bumiputeras in the economic pie. To say cronyism and nepotism as the reason for slow NEP progress is incorrect.

The reason for the slow progress remains lack of cooperation from the private sector.

    11. I have looked at Chapter 11: Government Procurement of the initial TPP Agreement – available at http://www.fta.gov.sg/tpfta/p3+authentic+trans-pacific+sep+text+english_v1.pdf. There is no inflation adjustment clause.

    12. There should be an inflation adjustment clause in the TPP Agreement like the one in the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). See Para 1(c), Chapter 10: Government Procurement of NAFTA – available at http://www.worldtradelaw.net/nafta/chap-10.pdf.

    Special Drawing Rights (SDR)

    13. Under the TPP, the threshold values for government procurement allotted to the Malays/Bumiputeras are set in terms of Special Drawing Rights (SDR). SDR is a basket of US Dollar, Euro, Japanese Yen and Pound Sterling. Although revised periodically by the IMF, the currency composition of this basket has been the same since 1999.

    14. These currencies are subject to interventions and manipulations even by the governments who preach free market. In September 1985, the US, the UK, Japan, West Germany and France signed Plaza Accord to devalue the US Dollar. In recent years, Quantitative Easing (QE) caused the US Dollar to depreciate.

    15. Currently, SDR1 is equivalent to RM5. A threshold of SDR100,000 for example, allows the government to allocate works below RM500,000 to Malay/Bumiputera contractors. But when SDR is weak against RM, the value of work allocated to those contractors becomes smaller.

    16. Say SDR value against RM drops and SDR1 is equivalent to RM3.50. A threshold of SDR100,000 now allows the government to allocate works below RM350,000. Not RM500,000 anymore.

    17. To avoid being exposed to such volatility, the threshold values should be set in RM, not SDR.

    Salam YgBhg Tun,

For those Malaysian Bloggers who are so comfy due to the years of good living as provided by the BN as led by the UMNO with the 13 component parties since 1957 ! The red hot news is the report in http//www.tremeritus.com/2013/08/22/prc-cargo-ship-opens-new-route-to-eu-bypassing-sg/ ‘PRC cargo ship opens new route to EU bypassing SG’. On 8th August 2013, a COSCO freighter left Dalian for Rotterdam using the North East Passage via Siberia and the Arctic for the first time. There is a saving of 12 to 15 days during the 4 months in summer when this passage is navigable. This will save the Chinese exporters millions in lower fuel costs and lower operating costs. In 2010, 4 ships used the Northeast Passage, in 2012, 46. By 2020, it is estimated 15 percent of Chinese export trade could use the Arctic route. Last year, this trade with the EU was worth $550 Billions. It is unfortunate to note this is another Sword of Damocles which is waiting to drop on Singapore in the years to come. Besides, there is the Chinese Myanmar sea port facing the Bay of Bengal which is connected by a land route to Western China. And a newly developed overland rail route through Sinkiang via a Central Asian State to Poland and the EU. If China uses the Northeast Passage successfully, all countries East of India will do the same. And whither the Singapore Harbour as ruled by the PSA during the 4 summer months in a year ?
The vicissitudes now faced by Singapore are beginning to bite, hence her urgency to resolve these foreseen problems at whatever the cost and hopefully not at our beloved Malaysia’s expense.
    The vicissitudes :-

    1. Pax America’s Policy of Free Trade, Globalization, and Human Rights after the Cold War 1948-1989.

    2. The World of the Net. Even with 2 casino licences which kicked start the economy for 2 years, the Singaporean economy slumped back to GDP of 3.5% before inflation by 2013 !

    3. The opening up of the Northeast Passage on 8th August 2013 by the Chinese which will have a unending deleterious effect on the Port operations of Singapore, an important contributor to the GDP !

    MAN PROPOSES. GOD DISPOSES.

For those Bloggers who are not conversant with the money side of Malaysian-Singaporean politics. The list of 9 comparative financial instances of Malaysia shows 8 instances are connected with Singapore. In the list of 9 failed Policies of the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew, only one, the creation of the Singaporean Trojan Horse DAP, a political entity formed to rule Malaysia, is connected with Malaysia. If it wins, the DAP will capture all the rich human and natural resources of Malaysia !
The TPPA is a device whereby SINGAPORE GAINS THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR when Malaysia becomes an OPEN MARKET after signing the TPPA. All manner of goods from all manner of countries will flood Malaysia’s open market and swamp out the fledgling BUMIPUTRA AND NON-BUMIPTRA SMEs OVERNIGHT. ALL THAT IS GOOD AS REPRESENTED BY THE BN AS LED BY THE UMNO WITH THE 13 COMPONENT PARTIES will be as dead as A DODO ! The TTPA is the Empire Preference of the British Empire when our beloved finally got rid of it in 1957 and British products were replaced by substituted products factories. And all foreign products were sold in the local market as per the rules and regulations governed by proper Trade Agreements to this day. This was fair. WITH THE TTPA, OUR BELOVED MALAYSIA IS JOINING A PARTY WHEN ALL THE RICH GENTS WEAR TUXEDOS and we have no bargaining chips to negotiate or to sell. WE HAVE NO MANUFACTURES OF VOLUME AND VALUE TO SELL TO THE MULTI-TRILLION DOLLAR MARKETS. But Malaysia has a luscious consumer market which is the envy of SINGAPORE. PLEASE NOTE THE FIERCE INDEPENDENCE ON SUCH SENSITIVE MATTERS BY CHINA, INDONESIA, THAILAND, TAIWAN AND THE PHILIPPINES. All these countries have more to sell than us. AND YET WE WENT THROUGH 19 ROUNDS OF FERVENT NEGOTIATIONS AND THE MEDIA CHURNED OUT ARTICLE AFTER ARTICLE WITH CONTENTS FULL OF JINGOISM, GENERALIZATION, PLAGIARISM from thick tomes bought from Kino, Borders or MPH ! None of these articles point out by signing the TPPA, the writers of these articles were recommending the KAPUT OF THEIR BOSSES, THE BN AS LED BY THE UMNO AND THE 13 COMPONENT PARTIES ! Silly !
WHY SINGAPORE IS SO KEEN TO CONQUER THE MALAYSIAN CONSUMER MARKET AND FINISH OFF THE BUMIPUTRA AND NON-BUMIPUTRA SMEs, THE LYNCH PIN OF THE MALAYSIAN MIDDLE INCOME GROUP AND THE COUNTRY’S BIGGEST EMPLOYER ? From the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew’s 9 failed Policies for Singapore geo-political vision for a viable and safe and happy Singapore, Malaysia is the bed-rock which must be secured by any means arising from the successful thrust down the Peninsula by the Imperial Japanese Army in 1941. This is the nub to any strategic geo-political thinking PLUS THE ADVANTAGE OF MALAYSIA AS THE KEY CHOKE POINT GEOGRAPHICALLY ASTRIDE THE STRAITS OF MELAKA AND THE SOUTH CHINA SEA. See how very important Singapore wants to bend Malaysia’s thinking and its actions to her will – a one street town with a full Cabinet of Ministers which can rule a country of 50 Millions and military aging Gurkhas guards, rusting tanks, F35s, frigates, submarines, AWACS, Apaches, spies, etc. etc. (Maybe these are for Indonesia) With Malaysia, there is no necessity for War, WE GIVE AWAY MONEY, ASSETS, TERRITORIES, ETC. ETC. FOR JUST A ROUND OF GOLF !
However, if SINGAPORE FAILS TO ACHIEVE HER AMBITIOUS AIMS, the following will have to take place within 50 years !

    1. Singapore joins the United States as the 53rd Union. Then, we can fill up the Straits of Johor until it becomes a monsoon drain and say, ‘Selamat Pagi’ every morning to Amerika across the chain-linked fence. We cannot get closer to Amerika than this.
    2. Singapore becomes a Crown Colony again like Bermuda, Caymans, Virgin Islands, Grenada etc. At least as it is said that at the end of the day, we have the King of Spades, of Diamonds, of Hearts, of Clubs and the King of England !
    3. Re-merge with Malaysia again. An ancient advised that it is bad for a good horse to return to old pastures.
    4. Singapore remains status quo. With the end of the Cold War and America’s promotion of free trade, globalisation and human rights, all these worked to the disadvantaged of Singapore. The luscious and profitable world of the Cold War ended overnight and subsumed by the Net and all its benefits. The fizz of 7%+ GDP went into a tali-spin by the 21st Century and with the utmost of efforts in a tumultous world, the best is estimated to be 3.5% without inflation. FOR SINGAPORE THERE IS NOW A HUGE YAWNING GAP BETWEEN REALITY AND CENTRAL PLANNING. This is the vital reason that Singapore has and is forced to look into all sorts of avenue to SURVIVE AS A VIABLE STATE even with all the free water now paid for by our beloved Malaysia. This free water has not and will not make any difference to the destinies of Nations. This is also one of the reasons why I always say now and dared not before that MALAYASIA IS A RUNAWAY SUCCESS AS COMPARED WITH SINGAPORE A RUNAWAY FAILURE.

    MAN PROPOSES. GOD DISPOSES.

    Assalamualaikum,

When you stepped down Tun, I seriously thought that I’m going to have better PM than you. After 10 years since you stepped down, I was made convinced that none of your successor is a good match. With DS Najib around the economy seemed to pick up a little bit better than Pak Lah. But the morale of the people is at it’s lowest point. He inherited a weak Government from Pak Lah while Pak Lah weakened the strong Government he inherited from you. As for Anwar Ibrahim, except for creating chaos, division and bahasa baku, nothing much I can recall about him. Wonder what makes him so special to you last time including Pak Lah.

I read the collection of your previous speeches. Frankly, I was amazed. It was like your thinking is ahead of your time. Today you have proven a lot of things that your are correct in many ways. Even today, there are so many people having problem understanding your ideas such as privatisation and modernisation of country’s infrastructure. All that they know is that Government should not spend any money while theoretically, it should be otherwise. Privatisation proved that it improves efficiency and generates more income instead of increase in Government budget every year. MAS should do the same because a lot of people inside had becoming too complacence they started to work like Government servant.

I despise cheap slogan people like to utter nowadays ‘Rakyat tidak lagi bodoh’ and some sort. Because when we start feeling that we are smart automatically we will stop learning new things, becoming more complacence and eventually become stupid ourselves.

There are still a lot more we need to learn compare to what we’ve learned because there is not much difference from being fooled and stupid.

    Tun,

    Salam Tun.

Do you love our beloved Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad or do you love your hero the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore ? There are lots of vitriol on the good Tun and I am the ONLY ONE WHO HAS PROVIDED YOU WITH THE FACTS ON YOUR HERO. You can only love one but you cannot love both in political terms. Which one, O HockBengTeoh456 ?

    Salam Tun,
Salam

Tun, as always you are ahead of our time. The way you speak, the way you write, let alone the way you think, we all are left behind for 10 decades.

even with your usual styles of responding. it serves well to such sleepiness ‘awakening’. myself was quite sentimental to wonder why should subang airport being butchered for klia, … what a waste and what a pity then, but you proved us wrong,… now everybody keen for klia2…. such as rapid demands.

well done tun, … even myself jobless by now i would never find fault with government. i have worked for 24 years non stopped, only for 1 year … to rest.

    12. In the past 56 years, UMNO is peerless via Malay Supremacy, by spending billions in mergers and vote buying via BN component parties.

    13. Those who were bitten, they will not join your wagon, Mubarak Chan.

    14. The spat between the 4th and 5th PMs have shown that Malay Supremacy will be continued to be championed by UMNO and its Bumiputra policies, NEP, to maintain political stability within Malay and Bumiputra.

    15. If not, the party will torn from inside or be indecisive to decide what to do next.

    16. As for voters like me, it’s too late, and it’s too little for MCA to revive as the damage has been done was far too great.

    Dear Tun,

[Awakened, to sleeping with the enemy | The “thirteen million plus Ringgit” guy rambles…. on August 23, 2013 at 4:03 AM]

Lagi pun perpatah Inggeris berkata ‘never flog a dead horse’

Pak Lah cuma bayang2. Yang jahatnya pakatan pembangkang.

    Wallahu alam

BN won the state from PAS partly because PM Najid announced at eleven hrs that Dato Mukhriz will be the MB shouild BN took the state back. majority of kedah voters gave the vote of confidence to BN after the annoucement was made.

During the recently concluded Hari Raya Aidil Fitri, thousand upon thousand’s commuter have not been able to commute to Padang Besar via KTMB.This is because Abdullah ( Tun? ) have seen it fit not, not to proceed with what Tun Dr Mahathir have agreed upon for rakyat via the tender..Note the word rakyat..

Suddenly, with the flash of inspiration..later..very much later..Abdullah ( ? Tun ) have realized that he can save bilion upon billion of ringgit by commencing the stalled project.Of how he managed to save billion upon billion ringgit I, being very much short of intelligence could not fathom…:)

Not only very much maligned rakyat people of the masses and the masses of people have been denied the untimely project we have been duped to that..opss sorry..let me rephrase that..We have been poorly informed that it is okay if the project were delayed..There is no overhead cost ( er..what the hell this mean?..) no nothing whatsoever burden for rakyat.
You can poll the Malaysian that were denied..opss..sorry again..Malaysian that use the Tambak Johor daily that that were fine and okay ( AHEM !! ) without the crooked bridge..

See Mr Ahmad..Life like belief is all about respective..

Life is all about belief.I strongly disagree with your belief..

    Tun

As there is a list of the brilliant Lee Kuan Yew with his 9 failed Policies for Singapore, there is also a comparative list which events were published the whole world over concerning our beloved Malaysia, 2000-2013

    1. The UN Saddam Hussein Sanctions Re-arrangement.
    2. The Sale and Re-purchase, and Sale of Shares by the Government.
    3. The Appointment of a PAP Cadre to the UMNO owned New Straits Times as Chief Editor. No wonder outisiders always laugh at us behind our backs.
    4. In 2008, Pulau Batu Putih was lost. A book was written by the victors to show how clever they were.
    5. In 2008, it was alleged Maybank bought at top price the shares of the Indonesian International Bank from Temasek of Singapore and Kookmin of Korea. The DAP now alleges that Maybank will lose billions of ringgits from this deal soon.
    6. The Re-arrangement of the 2 blocks of oil exploration properties.
    7. The 25 miles of steel rails rightfully belong to KTM.
    8. Nearly One Trillion ringgits flowed out of these shores.
    9. Miscellaneous. What we do not know, we do not know. Akan datang.

IS THE TPPA SIGNING FOR OUR BELOVED MALAYSIA THE GRAND FINALE TO ALL THESE LOSS OF MONEY, ASSETS, TERRITORIES ETC IN PEACETIME AND NOT IN A WAR ?

    Was wondering : –
    North South Expressway (PRIVATISATION)
    Penang Bridge (PRIVATISATION)
    West Port (PRIVATISATION)
    KLIA (PRIVATISATION)
    Putrajaya (PARTIAL LAND SWAP)
    Cyberjaya (Not Sure)

Am I right? or was there some government commitment ?

[ADVICE THAT WILL BANKRUPT THE NATION

    Aug22nd
    2013Leave a CommentWritten by chedet
As it is, he managed to stop the crooked bridge and the railway double-tracking and electrification project.]

    Dear Tun,

As a citizen under your sterling Prime Ministership, I wish to refute and rebuke the misplaced and mischievous accusation that the many infrastructure such as North South expressway, Penang Bridge, West port, KLIA, PUTRAJAYA, Cyberjaya were wasteful and mistakes that can bankrupt the nation. On the contrary, I consider the projects built under your tenure were superb, visionary, necessary and timely. In fact, the projects were undertaken especially the North South expressway in the nick of time when recession was about to set in. North South Expressway not only created jobs from direct investment , but the multiplier effects too created four times increase in income among the population. These infrastructure are the valuable assets of our nation. As the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr Mahathir was a workaholic, responsible, astute, courageous, wise and far sighted.

On the other hand, Tun Abdullah Badawi during his time as the Prime Minister of Malaysia was the subject of joke as the sleeping PM, although I find him to be a good man. He was selected and groomed by Tun Dr Mahathir to take over the Prime Ministership based mainly on his good morality as compared to the infamous sodomy scandal beset the nation preceded him. Unfortunately, Tun Abdullah was not able to handle complicated situation and made costly, strategic and serious mistakes causing the incumbent to lose unprecedented 5 states in PRU 12 in March 2008. The unforgiveable mistake was the huge hike in patrol price from rm1.40 to rm2.70. This single act of price increase brought about untold suffering to the population. However, being a good man he tried to compensate(some thing like payment of fidiah) the pain of the rakyat by giving vehicle subsidies of rm500 per vehicle. Another huge mistake was his kindness and conciliatory nature towards Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. That was his ultimate undoing.

Tun Dr Mahathir is of totally different class altogether if compared to his mild former deputy, Tun Abdullah Bedawi. Tun Dr Mahathir should ignore the insult of the subject of the current posting and refrain from hitting back at the sitting duck Pak Lah. This is clearly planted and manipulated by the Opposition to undermine and destabilise Tun Dr Mahathir. Tun Dr Mahathir is seen to be a stumbling block for the ambitious Opposition to capture Putrajaya. Therefore, this preposterous and uncalled for insult of Tun Dr Mahathir’s premiership. The Opposition has run out of ideas and now they resorted to the weakest link, Pak Lah, to hit at the government.

  117. ahmad Aug 22,2013 11:43 PM

Apa kah untongnya project doublr tracking kapada raayat.

  118. Malaysia Bagus Aug 22,2013 10:44 PM

    Salam Tun,

saya tak ingat apa-apa pun kecermelangan Tun Dollah ketika dia jadi PM.

  120. mubarakchan Aug 22,2013 6:32 PM

    Tun

I need our rocket scientist from Singapore who worked out that 1962 Water Agreement with Singapore that Malaysia now actually makes money. My maths is very poor due to the fact I did my schooling just after the end of World War 2 on 15 August 1945.
It is this. From your figures, the cost of the crooked bridge = RM 1 Billion + the cost of double tracking form Johor Baru to Padang Besar = RM 14 Billions. Total Cost = RM 15 Billions. We have the crooked bridge and the 400 miles of double track railway.

But with what eventually panned out, cancellation of the crooked bridge = RM 200 Millions + the 100 miles of double track railway = RM 12 Billions. Total expenditure by the Government = RM 12.2 Billions.

Yes ! There was a saving of RM 1.8 Billions for cancelling the crooked bridge and building just 100 miles of the double track railway from Ipoh to Padang Besar. THIS IS THE SAME THINKING ON THE TPPA BY COMMITTED MINOR OFFICIALS WHEN THEY TALK ABOUT THE HUGE TRILLION US DOLLAR MARKET FOR OUR GOODS WHEN WE HAVE NOTHING TO SELL EVEN FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS !

We certainly need that rocket scientist from Singapore who could walk on water in the 1962 Water Agreement with Singapore, to work out this new and stimulating Malaysian rationale – less is more or is it more is less ?

  121. lovetun Aug 22,2013 6:21 PM

    Dear Tun,
Selamat hari raya and may god bless you and family.
Please don’t bother to response to a that stupid man’s comment.it is a waste of time.
No justification or explaination is needed for your achievement, the rakyat miss the glory time that we had with you being our prime minister.

  122. sharifah Aug 22,2013 5:37 PM

Minal Aidil Wal Faizin ayahanda & bonda TUN. Anyone with half a brain can see through the book by Pak Lah. Kesian saya melihat dia terkial-kial cuba nak angkat airmuka nya. Itu lah, lain kali apabila nak kan sesuatu benda, kenalah ukur baju dibadan sendiri. Kalau tak ada skills to do the job, don’t do it lah! Hopefully KJ pun sedar ttng pepatah ni.
